Asia & Oceania Postdoctoral Academia (AOPDA) is an apex learned body of postdoctoral scholars, researchers, trainees, mentors and postdoc counselors engaged in postdoctoral enterprises at different institutions across Asia and Oceania.

AOPDA has been emerged as an inordinate higher institution comprising of cross-boundary and cross-disciplinary institutional demesnes throughout the academic fragment-precincts of Asian and Oceanic regions.
As an advent-transfiguration of SAARC-ASEAN Postdoctoral Academia, AOPDA was agreed upon to be formed in early 2017 by the concurrence and consensus-accords extended by the inter-regional prescribed institutional bodies representing the postdoctoral community region-wide.

SAARC-ASEAN Postdoc Academia was the 2nd premier postdoc body world over, dealing with the postdoctoral affairs. It was primarily found with an aim and objective of catering to the needs of postdoc community in South Asian and South East Asian regions. Founded in 2013, SAARC-ASEAN Postdoc Academia was previewed to work as an auxiliary extent-replacement of the National Postdoctoral Association, U.S., which it performed until the decision of its advent-transfiguration into AOPDA was proclaimed categorically in early 2017. Besides being engaged in postdoctoral activities, the SAARC-ASEAN Postdoc Academia remained always at frontlines to assist the UN and its corresponding officialdom-systems including UNESCO, UNISDR and other reputed institutional bodies, since 2013 in its capacity, throughout the SAARC and ASEAN regions during its entire track-record since its year of inception i.e. 2013.
The National Postdoctoral Association (NPA) is the first postdoctoral association, having its representations throughout the U.S., Canada and the United Kingdom.

NPA is a member-driven, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides a unique, national voice for postdoctoral scholars. Since 2003, NPA has taken on the ambitious agenda to enhance the quality of the postdoctoral experience in the United States. They have assumed a leadership role in addressing the many issues confronting the postdoctoral community that are national in scope and requiring action beyond the local level.

Headquartered in Rockville, MD, the NPA meets its agenda through advocacy, resource development and community-building.
